The Italian Institute of Art is a vibrant art residency for visiting Italian and European Artists. Designed to foster community, the residency provides small, medium, and large studios with various moments for interaction between artists, and between artists and the public. It located on the corner of NW 8th Street and NW Couch Street in Portland Oregon.

The first floor serves as the main public floor, featuring a gallery where residents showcase their work, a corner coffee shop, and a reception hall for exhibitions, performances, and cultural events. On the second floor, a curated library and hands-on workshops invite interaction between artists and the public to engage in dialogue and artistic exchange.

Rising above, the third, fourth, and fifth floors are dedicated to the artists, offering studio spaces, makerspaces, and a shared social seating integrated into the circulation that fosters connection. The sixth floor is the more formal social space for the artists with a communal dining hall, kitchen, and a rooftop terrace.
