Our vision is to transform the Gateway Regional Center into a thriving, climate-resilient destination. We aim to activate the site by replacing car-centric infrastructure with a pedestrian-scaled grid that capitalizes on the existing transit hub to encourage activity and wellness. By introducing a destination sports complex and integrating a mixed-use district, we will establish a strong community identity that draws visitors while serving existing residents. We will stimulate the local economy through dedicated commercial corridors and market spaces, while implementing robust green infrastructure, like maximum canopy cover and park blocks, to combat urban heat. Ultimately, through an advocacy-driven approach, we will embrace the neighborhood’s cultural diversity by prioritizing affordable housing, accessible community spaces, and local art.
